Two representatives of the Alcoa company came to the schools S. Nicolò and L. Da Vinci, in Merano, in order to see how we utilize the electronic equipment that the Alcoa Foundation has kindly donated to the Istituto Comprensivo Merano 1.

Besides the manager of the Italian Alcoa company, Mr. San Nicolò and the secretary, Mrs. Framba, the principal of our school Mrs. Penitenti , a member of the FUSS TEAM, Mr. Stefano Rento and the administrator of the system, Mr. Luciano Gerloni were present at the meeting.

Two schoolgirls of the S. Nicolò primary school showed the guests how the computers and terminals work. Alcoa is the world’s second largest producer  aluminum. It leads the world in alumina production.

From Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Alcoa controls operations in 43 countries. Alcoa has been in Italy for almost 35 years.

It has six operating locations in Northern and Central Italy, plus Sardinia. This ensures that Italian markets get goods manufactured in Italy. Alcoa employs 2,500 people in Italy.

Alcoa Foundation’s mission is to actively invest in the quality of life in Alcoa communities all over the world.

Thanks Alcoa
